1. Why should we choose you to be our wedding photographer?
I’m a documentary photographer; this means I capture moments that happen naturally rather than situations that are set up and stylised. I’m also a true romantic and I completely believe in the importance of marriage. To me declaring your love to one another in front of friends and family is one of the most important things you will do and I have the honour of capturing that moment.
A good wedding photographer is technically skilled, creative and most importantly can connect with you on your special day to ensure it is beautifully documented.
2. I like natural images but what about the group photographs?
Group photographs tend to go against the documentary photographers philosophy of keeping things natural, however I do feel they are important and I will discuss with you the best way to incorporate these into your day.
3. Both of us are really shy in front of the camera!
Firstly please don’t worry there is so much going on you will forget I’m there and secondly you are paying for a professional photographer to follow you around on a joyous day where you both look stunning! As explained we are not on a photo shoot, I won’t make you stare at the camera for ages with cheesy grins. My aim is to make you feel as comfortable as possible, so even when we take some time out for the Mr & Mrs intimate pictures, I will ask you to focus on each other rather than me.
If you would like to try this before your wedding you can book a ‘love shoot’. The purpose of the love shoot is to practice being you in front of the camera. You will also get some lovely couple pictures, which you can use for invitations, save the date cards, or just for you. The love shoot takes place in location of your choice, your favourite walk, beach or wood. A love shoot costs £75.00 and is payable at the time of the shoot.
4. Do we meet you before the wedding?
Yes, unless you don’t want to. Choosing your wedding photographer is not just about their style but also their personality. I’m going to spend the day with you intimately so it is important we like each other and you like my style. I therefore don’t ask for any commitment from you until we have met.
5. How much does it cost for you to be our wedding photographer?
Wedding photographers may seem expensive to you at first but your photographs are the only things that will last for generations. How much will photographs of you and your husband, your parents and even grandparents be worth to you in 10 years times? It is one of the most important investment decisions of your day.
I keep my pricing structure simple.
I charge £950.00 for a full day’s coverage.
A full day’s coverage is approximately 10 hours starting with the bridal preparation and groom if nearby, through to an hour into your evening reception (normally about 9pm). Included in this price is:
6. We don’t want a full day do you offer less?
I do offer a half-day’s coverage, which is £795.00 and includes the same as a full day but with approximately 250 – 300 images. This is ideal if you are having a smaller intimate wedding and only require 6 hours coverage.
7. We would like you to stay longer than 10 hours?
That’s fine with me. I love getting into the thick of it on the dance floor but your guests may not appreciate me snapping away whilst they're shaking their funky stuff. Late night photography however can be very beautiful and if you were hoping for some starlit skies or romantic lit images then I may need to stay past 9:00pm depending on the time of year. If you did want me to stay for longer I charge £50.00 per hour.
8. Is travel included?
Yes, I don’t charge any extra for my travel expenses unless your wedding is outside of Kent and then I will add a small charge for petrol costs.
9. Do you travel abroad?
Absolutely, being a confident traveller a wedding abroad is on my bucket list. With regards to the cost the wedding price is the same but with the addition of flights and 1-2 nights accommodation depending on the wedding location. I promise I don’t expect business class or five star accommodation, just a comfortable bed to ensure I am at my best for the big day.
10. Do you provide albums?
Some photographers include an album in their costs. Be aware of this and ask to see examples before you buy. There are albums and there are photo books and variations of these, a bit like Tesco’s own brand verses M&S exclusive range. To keep my price realistic I don’t include an album but I do provide options for you. A professional wedding album can make an excellent wedding gift. Please see albums.
11. When we will receive our photographs?
My aim is for your little parcel of memories to arrive within 3 – 4 weeks after your wedding; this may be extended during peak times. I do understand how long that wait can be so I will send you some sneak peaks via my Facebook Business page within 24 hours.
12. Are you insured?
Yes I have full public liability insurance.
13. What happens if you are ill on our wedding day?
This has never happened and unless I’m bed bound I will be there. If I were to be struck by lightning I’m part of a fabulous group of female photographers who I can call on at short notice to stand in for me, if they are free. There is no guarantee but we will all do our very best.
14. Do you have back up equipment if something goes wrong?
Yes I shoot with two Canon 5D cameras and a selection of lenses. As soon as I get home I download all your images onto my iMac, back them up on an external hard drive and send them to my cloud.
15. How soon should we book you?
If you are interested please contact me via my contact page, or call me on 07809 402248 and let's meet and talk weddings :) Dates are filling up fast for 2016 and 2017.
